Romano has resolved hundreds of cases through negotiations, mediations, and trials which have resulted in millions of dollars for his clients. Romano’s tenacity has earned him the gratitude of his clients; his integrity has earned the respect of his colleagues in the profession, culminating in 2003 when Romano was awarded a Queen’s Counsel designation for his outstanding accomplishments in the field of law.
Early in his career Romano primarily practiced criminal law but since the early 1980’s Romano has only acted for persons injured in accidents. Romano articled with Harry Rankin and was a partner of Rankin, Robertson, Giusti and Donald until 1981 when he left to begin his own practice; presently known as Giusti Nairne.
Romano has argued cases at all levels of Court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. In 1994, Romano successfully argued Galaske v. O’Donnell in which the Supreme Court of Canada held that drivers must ensure that children use seatbelts even if the parents of the children are also present in the car.
Romano is the former president and founding member of Selva Del Montello Society, which became a major contributor in the establishment of the Italian Cultural Centre. He is a founding member of the Italian Cultural Centre and served a two year term on the Board. Naturally, Romano speaks Italian. Romano is married with three children.
