Upon becoming a lawyer Raj focused on personal injury and has represented only injured parties since 2003. As a junior lawyer, Raj was given the files no one else wanted - and succeeded on behalf of her clients! She applies that same determination to the files that she handles today. Raj has appeared in both the Provincial and Supreme Courts and obtained judgments in favour of her clients despite ICBC’s assertion that her clients had not sustained any injuries. In addition to trials, Raj has conducted numerous mediations that resulted in successful settlements.
Raj has presented at Continuing Legal Education seminars for lawyers and paralegals and has written papers on the use of high tech exhibits, discovery practice, conducting summary trials and cross-examination of experts.
Raj was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. Before law school, among other things Raj was a member of the Vancouver Police Department for nearly 10 years as a Reserve Police Constable. Raj was accepted for the Honours Programme in Criminology at Simon Fraser University but instead attended Osgoode Hall Law School.
In her spare time Raj is a big sports fan, especially of the Vancouver Canucks, B.C. Lions and Seattle Seahawks.
Raj is fluent in Punjabi and understands Hindi.
