Ron has appeared in all levels of Court in British Columbia and conducted both judge alone and jury trials. During that time Ron has resolved hundreds of cases and recovered in excess of $25 million on behalf of his clients. He focuses on complex personal injury cases such as traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, thoracic outlet syndrome, and chronic pain, among others.
In 2000 Ron was co-counsel in Heringa v Mah, in which a jury awarded the plaintiff over $5.5 million, one of the largest personal injury jury awards in Canada.
Ron has presented to other lawyers at continuing legal education and trial lawyers seminars on topics that include discovery practice, the implied duty of confidentiality, presenting expert evidence, and the legal analysis of causation, particularly as it relates to trauma and multiple sclerosis.
Ron grew up in the Vancouver area. He attended UBC where in 1989 he was awarded degrees in both law and commerce. Since being called to the Bar Ron has practiced civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury. In 1998 Ron restricted his practice to plaintiff’s personal injury law only. In 2007 Ron joined Romano Giusti to establish Giusti Nairne.
Ron has long roots in the community as both sets of his grandparents moved to Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast in the 1920’s. When not in the office, you can usually find Ron sailing in the Gibsons area, or working on reducing his golf handicap!
